Kara Palamaras
Media Consultant
With more than 15 years
of experience in communications and public relations, Kara Palamaras
has an expertise in media relations, promotional publicity, media
training, writing, editing and publishing, marketing communications,
collateral materials development and management, cultivating strategic
business partnerships, and web site design and content planning.
Palamaras has worked
with consistently Singer Communications since 2004 assisting with
media strategy, outreach and tracking media coverage. She successfully
worked on SC projects with Danya International, the American Society
of Appraisers, and the American Anti-Vivisection Society.
In addition to her collaboration
with SC, Palamaras has extensive experience with the telecommunications
and IT field. She was the director of corporate communications for
XO Communications where she handled all internal and external efforts.
As vice president of corporate communications for Telispark, Inc.,
an enterprise software company, she was responsible for developing
public relations strategy and initiatives for the company.
Before Telispark, she
held several positions in corporate communications at Nextel Communications
during her four years with the company. As director, corporate communications,
she was responsible for the day-to-day management of the public
relations activities at Nextel including: media and analyst relations,
press releases, company newsletter, annual report, fact sheets,
press materials and internal
Palamaras also worked
in public affairs for eight years at the Federal Communications
Commission. In her tenure, she worked on issues related to wireless
telecommunications, mass media, satellite and common carrier.
She holds an MPA in Public
Administration from George Mason University and a BA in Political
Science from the Catholic University of America.
